I remember on an earlier thread someone mentioning you get a larger rear heat shield to fit the 70mm headers when you purchase the full Termi system. I've been looking on the net trying to find this part separate, even on the Ducati Australian site and I can't see it. Does anyone else know where I can purchase it?

I'm not sure where to get the larger one but keep in mind it is carbon fiber and is "glossy". Not sure why but I do not like the glossy look, and it doesn't match the other carbon fiber parts offered by DP. Just my .02 cents.

I thought it was a little weird that they went with gloss too, but the termi heat shield wouldn't work with the standard pipes. Not even close to the same shape and there are mounting points on the pipes themselves. That being said, motowheels has a carbon heat shield for the standard pipes.

cool thanks mate. I was looking because I was thinking of heat shielding the under side of the rear heat shield and exhaust wrap the header, which made it a little tight with the standard one.

Cool, I was wondering about a carbon heat shield for the stock pipe. I checked out motowheels and it looked good. I think the stock metal one looks out of place on such a beautiful bike. Gonna have to get one for mine. Thanks!

yeah i have it on, its quite a bit cooler than the stock one (I'm talking temperature not looks) but it is gloss which looks odd when you have filled your bike up with a load of matt carbon DP parts like I have. I also was looking for the part number so i can use the cut outs on one for the rear passenger pegs and leave the other one standard for one up.

Damn the shiny CF! You think they could ask each other... Are you doing shiny or matte? Ok matte it is. Would it be that hard?

I think CF manufacturers tend to use high gloss on CF exhaust parts for an added layer of protection? In fact I can't think of any CF exhaust parts I've had that were not high gloss. CF will breakdown rather quickly because of the heat without gloss protection layer.

Any of you guys have the carbon shield on the standard exhaust in use ? I saw it on Motowheels but it was still on pre-order. Does it really bring down temperature at your inner thighs or do you guys just do it for the glory of having CF parts on?

I had my dealer wrap the exhaust pipe to counter the heat. He claims the measured temp is considerably lower, yet I don't feel a difference. Still can't ride the bike in jeans without getting burn marks or changing my position every other minute.

Exactly What He Said !

Thank you! Which often leads me to wonder why DP went with such cheap ass .... for their line of "matte carbon." Does that signify classy and unique deep, dark, wet, 3d effect carbon weave? Hell No!! It literally looks like rubber or plastic with fake carbon weave in it. It defeats the entire look of true high end carbon fiber covered in thick glossy UV and scratch resistant protection! If ya ask me the cheesed us all out on this childproof trash.

Yeah Yeah- to each his own I know. All my DP stuff is being cleared by a pro and all the Carbonvani stuff THANKFULLY can be selected to come in glossy. After all it needs to match the original BST wheels, in that high gloss, sexy finish!

YOu know I emailed Mike at Motowheels. He felt that too much heat is concentratred pretty close to the carbon fibre so it might not hold up well. He did say motowheels has got something in the works for this application, I'll be interested to see what they come up with. I'm wondering if something like a kevlar or something.

Not a bad idea but I still think CF is a better option?
