Rear Stands

Hey Nick, take a look at this thread, after I put my one together:

http://ducati1199.com/mechanical-technical/578-anyone-assembled-their-ducati-rear-paddock-stand.html

Funny thing is that in solo use, the lean actually helps you get the bike safely on the side stand, so I'm pretty happy with it.

- Very strong, no flex.
- Perfect fitting nylon insert, so no damage to the hub
- Nice quality rubber coated wheels

Thumbs up from me (now) :)

Thanks Xbox. Good to hear. I'll get mine soon and will see if I have that lean angle also.

DUCENZO ,
I see in your pic , that you taped the wheels on your stand. Was that to level it out ? I'm asking because my T-Rex stand has the bike at a slight tilt when I have the bar pushed forward. Thought of taping one wheel to level it out.

t-rex stands, at least the one I had were pretty rickety, worth the extra dollars to buy a pitbull rear stand, the reversing one is very good as you can use to remove the wheel or the chain by reversing which side you put the pin in.

I'm looking for stand (four of them actually) that I can either fix to the garage floor or that are stable enough to just ride into them.

Right now I drive into the garage through one door and around to angle them in on the other side with the front wheel against the side wall of the garage. I've got to get the separation just right between them or it's a PITA to get on/off.

Ideally, I think, I'd like to bolt the stands to the floor at the proper spacing and then forget about moving them.

So, I'm looking for suggestions on what stand you all like and why.

I've got 3 or 4 paddock stands, so I don't need any more of them.

Cheers

baxley is the gold standard everyone else copied.

Expensive compared to the copies but you'll be very happy with the quality.

Harbor Freight and a lot of others have knock offs in varying qualities.

Baxley Trailer Sport Chock

The baxley chock holds the bike vertical and makes storing more bikes easier in a smaller area.

Thanks Zvez - Baxley is what I was just looking at.

I haven't found a bolt-down one yet but I'm still looking at their Website.

I purchased the Ducati rear paddock stand and it works great. Very easy to use for one person and matches the color of the bike. Very slick.

Finally got around to placing my T-REX stand on the other side ( right ) of the bike. When lifting from this side , the bike ends up sitting perfectly level , and rock solid.

Any thoughts on the DP red stand? I didn't know about pit bull before but it looks like a great product.
I
Ordered the stand with the bike. Not sure if I can cancel it.

Nick
I imported the pitbull stand and the trailer restraint. Best quality but really pricey for us.

shame an enterprising guy over there doesn't get licensing to produce them in OZ. Shipping and customs must kill you on something as bulky and heavy as pitbull.
