so my Competition Werkes rear turn signals are a total liability in the day and not much better at night....i was going to replace them with these nested in the upper vent area -- they are significantly brighter and i am going with the 15 LED Amber option:

Flexible LED Lighting TruFlex Flexible LED Light Strips

does anyone know if i need a load equilizer or can i go straight into the wires that the Werkes are currently hooked up to?

thx in advance...

Sorry I don't know the answer, but when you do get to installing, can you document—seems like an easy to do alternative that I want to try.

FWIW, I did a DIY license plate bracket with some small LED turn signals I got from PEP boys. Wired them up (no load equalizers) and they work perfectly.

were they running off then on for turn signal?

i am trying to get the brightest possible solution here...was also thinking of drilling out the Comp Werkes assemblies and inserting some bright LEDs inside....or just use strips....not sure just yet...but again, Comp Werkes sells a real POS liability of a turn signal...

Here's a link: Alpena Strobe Postz | Product Details | Pep Boys

They're only $25 for the set. They come with a control unit, but I didn't use it. Unfortunately, they don't make them in any other color. I just popped off the clear lens, made my own red lens and glued it on. It's been working perfectly and these things are BRIGHT!

If you wanted something to mount up in the vents, this might work as well: http://www.pepboys.com/product/details/523264/00391/accessories/fashion_lighting/led
They make those in red and amber too. Those are so bright that it hurts our eyes if look directly at them.

update: i ordered the LED parts direct from manufacturer and will be getting a set of Competition Werkes rear amber lights so that I may retrofit them with the ultrabright LEDs....should be brightest solution out there, and not by a small margin...

Nice looking forward to your results. Thanks for sharing.

they are SO BRIGHT they radiate THROUGH the fairings.....
