Good morning all,

Looking for a bit of advice, I need to replace the rear tyre on my V4 but unfortunately we cannot get the 200/60 tyres here at all, we can only get 200/55's.

Now the dealer has told me I cant fit this because it will cause issues with the TC and SC systems. Does anyone know of a way around this or how to recalibrate for a 55??

Obviously I will be fitting a 60 as soon as I possibly can, but I have 3 track days in the next few weeks and I dont see a way to get a 60 in time.

Cheers

Brad

The 1299 had a tyre calibration feature in the software to allow for different tire sizes than standard. I just looked at a US V4s user manual and it looks like on page 185 the procedure for the Tire Setting and Drive ratio (Tire calibration) is shown.

If you calibrate the bike with the 55 tire, all systems should work as normal.

I would think you would be able to just run through the calibration procedure.

However, if you are focused just on track days, the Pirelli slicks are already 200/60.

The bike has tire calibration, however, a 200/60 Pirelli SBK slick is 5 mm shorter in ride height and the DOT 200/55 SC race tire is 8 mm shorter so you should also compensate for this change in ride height.
