Deg. Spinal Disease here, too. L2 Compression fracture (last time I went into a sports doctor he ordered an MRI just to see how it was possible I could walk). My best PT involved a personal trainer who put together a series of exercises targeting muscle groups I didn't even know I had. That worked better than anything I'd ever done before.
On top of all the lower back stuff, surgery to my neck/head really screwed up my neck and specific exercises targeting the area have worked better than rest, ice, meds, etc.
