So after binning the 1299 right side down on the weekend I want to fit some protection starting with frame sliders. Some must be better than others, dont want bling just practical. Seem the rh side might be covered by a decent clutch cover (woodcraft?) The left looks vulnerable to shock loads on the few mounting points. Any suggestions welcome, as I am surely going to do this again! Interestingly fold up pegs unscathed, but those with fixed pegs, how do they handle an off?

we do not use(d) framesliders. No. of Offs so far...6,7 on 4 panigales.
i would recommend Carbonadi(glue on) Engine Protectors, fat POM axle Sliders, and maybe (good) Tank Edge thingies.
fixed Pegs did there job so far. you never know.
bad experience:
GB racing cover broken/cracked (failed, oil loss).
Spider Aluminium was slightly better(no oil loss).
-
cheap, one layered, tank edges broke like glass.

Thanks Chris, managed to get away with a slightly bruised ego, broken rh clip on (failure at locating hole- also theres a stress riser at that point with a change in internal ID so maybe some aftermarket bars) broken brake lever so maybe folders but that seems gimmicky. Also snapped the rear brake pedal but a 6mm bolt as the toe piece solved that and put a pin hole in the clutch case that created the tiniest of weeping so tape sorted that. Long story short only missed a couple of sessions but really annoying as I wasnt prepared, never expected to end up in falling off as I'm not really pushing it but it was a cold morning, cold new tires but the day before the track had been used for the drift cars so I suspect I lost the front on a dirty part.

got a link to the carbonadi's? their site doesnt seem to show any ducati products

no. mail him. i know, i bought it, he has a clutch cover for 1199. i think its the same(?)

I use the T-Rex sliders and have crashed my 1199 twice with them, each time going 100+ MPH (track) and both times they have saved my fairings as well as my engine casings.
I strongly recommend them. That said, they are heavy and I have touched down the right engine slider once whilst racing; however, it was not enough to upset the bike.
Oh, and DEFINITELY get the tank slider/protectors; they work really well. Trust me. I know. :)

I bought mine from someone on the forum, years ago.
I haven’t tried these guys yet (an outfit in Canada), but I was considering these (below). Carbon over fibreglass, or full carbon options.
For what it is, carbon over fibreglass is good value.

+1 for T-Rex on the V2. I think they're still trying to develop something for the V4.

I use all woodcraft stuff, clutch cover, been used 3 times, replaceable sliders, i use front axle sliders and bar end sliders.
Thats all you need.
"Frame" sliders will more than likely cause the bike to flip once it meets a soft surface such as dirt.
Nobody i know that races these bike use them.

Trex slider has not yet flipped my bike and counting 5 lowsides on left side. That slider have saved alot of cash and work for me.
