Just picked up a 2012 1199s insurance buyback from my buddy. The bike is setup for reverse / GP shift.
I also own a 2006 Yamaha R6 which has the standard shifting. Would like both bikes to be similar in shifting directions. I'm used to the standard shift.
To remove the reverse shift would I just rotate the top of the black box? Wires seem to be facing right in all parts diagrams I've found (mine pointing left). I know the shift link that bolts to the shaft needs to be rotated 180 degrees. Just not sure about the black box as I've read you need to install a special wire harness to reverse the throttle "blip", but I do not see any additional harness installed.
Thanks for the help in advance.
