I didn't find a thread dealing with this.

Anyone removed your mirrors for track day? Are the plugs for the turn sigs right there when you unbolt from the fairing or do you have to pull the front fairing to get to them?

Does the front turn sigs being unplugged thrown any error code?

Chris

Yes, the connectors are close to the mounts for the mirrors. A little fiddely, though no need to remove the front cowl.

No error codes.

ah, exc. tip thanks!

Just zip tie the upper fairing to the upper stay. If you put mirror block off plates you will most likely damage the fairings when in an event of a crash. By putting zip ties you allow the upper fairing to flex and break loose from the upper stay minimizing damage.

can anyone please dumb this down for me?
So do I have to remove the windscreen, unbolt mirrors, then "fiddle" ? haha
Does it require the dash to be unbolted somehow?

2 screws for each mirror on the inside of the shield. Just unscrew and unclip the power cords. Tape the cords or let the hang either way that's it your done.

to add just a bit to that. When you unbolt the mirrors, you'll find the plugs sandwiched between the stanchion and a plastic, carefullly pull them out to give you enough slack.

When putting everything back together, be sure to push the plugs back down into that space.

Wow that's pretty simple. Thanks!

Thank you. Just went and attempted it. Seems pretty straight forward. Wish it had a little more slack but it's pretty easy none the less.

just an FYI. when i did my screen, reconnecting mine due to slack was a royal pain.

so much so, that I'm considering taping them for the track as apposed to removing them.

I just took the mirrors off and zip tied the wires with the windscreen/fairing. Wasn't as clean looking, but made reassembly easy.

Yep after two track days, I figure the plugs will give out/break if I keep taking mirrors off, going to tape from now on.
