if the bearing shells are OK, i see no need to replace it, so be careful not to damage the shells or seals while:
(ducati says: Remove the upper (10) and lower flange (11) from the frame.
first clean it.
if you look thruh you see a recess at front and back of the seat.
that is the place for a round rod , alu, copper, maybe veryhard wood*.
or just Steel. would be fine to damage the surface of the flanges as little as possible.
drive it with the rod and a hammer evenly out of the frame.
*cooling spray on the flange cant be wrong.
