That video was amazing to watch! Thank you for posting

Your welcome buddy :) I could not find this kit listed on there site, so have asked them about it and also asked about just the silver/brushed alloy affect sheet price for anyone just wanting that complete brushed alloy tank look.

It was to cover crash damage on his racebike .. I could have done it in carbon:D

Absolutely fantastic work Scott !!!

Great to see things taking off for you here my friend!

I'll have to agree with Claymore on this.

Your abilities are pretty phenomenal, but applying fake aluminum over real aluminum to camouflage a non R is just wrong on so many levels, especially when in person it will fool no one. (The lip of Aluminum being higher off the surface than the red would make me irate every time I saw it.)

In summary: phenomenal skills wasted on trying to replicate something that would be easier (and more authentic) to replicate with sandpaper. Would love to see you use your abilities to elevate the lines of the bike with a design of your own.

All the 1199 Panigale tanks are made of aluminium. To get the brushed aluminium look you strip it to the bare metal, give it a brushed finish and clear coat it. It is that simple. A side benefit is a slight weight loss as well. :p

I think there's only a couple of us in the minority on the irony here....

It was an r tank to begin with.. the rash was driving him crazy.. it's his track bike, so no interest in repainting. Not trying to fool, no substitute for real thing.. it was free to him, as I was doing a graphic kit on his new carbon bodywork... just play in with some vinyl, that's all.

Agreed . I have a damaged R tank at home off my race bike so I either repair it and paint the complete tank or do something like that .
I would be very happy to have that on my race bike .

All 1199 tanks are made of aluminium and rashes are easily buffed out. :p

He wanted to wrap the whole tank, I suggested because damage was 99% contained to top to make it look the same.. ( hence the r tank). Not trying to be elusive. Not sure there is a benefit to it????

Somehow this is getting carried away from a simple photo I posted. I have regrets sharing this.Wow!!

I like it. I hope you're happy. Thanks for sharing it.
Because colour.
Not because R or not R.

Contradicting? Never stated I turned a base tank into an R model with vinyl. I Stated I made a r tank wrap.. Customer suggested wrapping fully. I stated damage was contained to top and the r style would cover perfectly..what should I have called it? Not sure where contradiction comes in here?? Or why it matters what model the tank was on base , R ect. As far as better soulutions, maybe, but free is as good as it gets if customer has no interest in repainting to proper specs..My bike, and an r model..tank gets replaced. I am sorry if i have created any misconceptions as to my abilities, what was done to make the tank look better ect. I don't want a back and forth, just thought I'd show some photos..

Scott

I have locked this thread before it descends into an attack on this vendor..Seems to me that this guy provides a quality product and service and he gets attacked without justification...
