Replacing Mirrors?

Ducati Forum

Help Support Ducati Forum:

Received my LuxMachine block off plate signals yesterday (one did not work, disconnected wire) along with the Dan Kyle/CRG Arrow bar end kit. Both parts are very nice, especially the Kyle bar ends (threaded). The signals were fairly easy to mount, a T60 socket handled the bar end removal (long ratchet almost required). I like the looks of the block off plates and am undecided about the mirrors (added width) but I love the much improved and stable view.

Pics later today.

I just changed to Oberon bar end bi- directional turn signals, mounted CRG Arrows to them and then installed the block off plates and I couldn't be happier!

Devilsnight,
You're right, nice clean look! The question I have, are the mirrors functional? Do you see more than your elbows? Also, can you see directly behind you, in your lane?

These are the issues I have with the stock mirrors...

Thanks!

i'll answer as well; i've had crg arrows and lane splitters on a multitude of bikes, and they offer by far the best views of the space behind and around you (they are slightly convex). they are adjustable enough to see just about anything but the space in front of you :). another bonus is that they don't vibrate like handlebar mounted stalk style mirrors do. i will say that the mirrors on a BMW GS do a fine job of providing rear views as well. what i don't understand is why anyone would want a shorter stalked fairing mounted mirror on their Panigale (shorter than the stock ones) as it would only reduce the amount of rear vision available.

hope that helps,

-- mirrors ?.....they were never meant to be on the panigale in the first place....you should be looking ahead of you at all times.....

-- brakes ?....they are meant for slowing down....they were never meant.......

^ i can appreciate what you're saying, but here in CA we need to have at least one on our bike when riding on the open roads. it's also damn smart to be able to see what is coming up behind you, helps in not being "surprised" whether at speed or even at a stop sign. ;)

I've learned to look int he reflections of the bumper infront of me and pull off to the middle or shoulder so I don't get sandwiched.

Those rizoma mirrors are really nice looking pieces. I was looking at the oberon signal/mirror combo but they stick out way too far for my taste.

they are good looking as you say, almost fancy. i have no idea how anyone could see behind them given that they appear to be a lot shorter than the stock mirrors. i guess form over function (possibly) for some.

I think it is a case of form over function in the decision process. For me, they have to look nice and unobtrusive. Others want to see what's going on behind them at all times. I can't deal with anything that is ugly on my bike. The stock mirrors are horrible looking pieces and those Rizomas look like the perfect happy medium between stock and small bar ends.I've decided on the small CRG blindsight mirrors. However, if those Rizomas were sanely priced,I'd be going that route. I'm unwilling to pay that for mirrors..even though they are gorgeous

I would be interested in seeing that too.
I'm thinking about these mirrors. I check the internet from time to time to see if anything has come out. To me it's all about a clear view behind me.
The stock mirrors just vibrate way to much at anything over 40 mph.
I can't tell if it's a pick up truck behind me or a VW bug, let alone a cop.
I'm ready for a good replacement.

i ordered the rizoma mirrors a couple of weeks ago. black with the signal. called the L for light i guess. still dont have them i believe they are backordered. anybody have them yet?

The USA ETA for the Rizoma Veloce L mirrors is mid to end of April.

I ordered the same mirrors about 3 weeks ago and still no work. Hopefully they will come in soon. As soon as I get them I will post installed photos.
