Just received my Ride Core system in the mail yesterday. This is their newest updated stuff. I decided to go with this alarm mainly for the GPS tracking feature as well as the text and email messaging if any of the sensors get tripped. Its got a bunch of other features that look cool, but weren't the selling point for me. I didn't get the perimeter alarm or anything like that cuz I don't want to be that bike that chirps or goes off if a leaf falls near it, like one bike I park near is prone to do.
I'm kinda paranoid now after my R1 was stolen from campus earlier in the year and I can't really afford to go replacing my 1199 if it falls victim too. I've got insurance and I know that's my best bet if something happens, but I figure an added layer of security (real or imagined) can't hurt.
Looks like a pretty simple install, GPS plugs into the unit (both are pretty small, smaller than their last line of stuff, which is a good thing since space is at a premium on these bikes) and its a three wire install, positive, negative and a 12V source (they recommend tying into the tail light).
Now I just need to go find a place to put everything....I've added a few photos of the system. Slick packaging, very minimal. I dig it.
