Thanks CaliDuc for that info:eek:

I sold my 1198s with the r-link 1100e on it..
I really liked that alarm, worked flawlessly for me

I now just purchased the new "ride" system for my 1199s Tri

If anyone is interested, they have a limited deal going on right now for previous owners of their other products, to switch over to the new "ride" system..
$100 off the price..

I got the whole package for $278 + $55 shipping to Canada....

Hey lance bro -- just sent you a PM regarding your system -- and wanted to give you a heads-up.

Props for the description and experience with your Scorpio system.

Cheers...

I have a question regarding the Ride system, can you configure the shock/tilt sensitivity remotely ie from your phone, computer, etc or is it like the Rlink where it's done on the MCM itself? Same question for the proximity sensor if there's a shaded out option for it due to you not having the secure kit installed.

great question... the guys at r-link are always there and have excellent customer service... just call them

i have the ride system now installed on my 1199S tricolore but i haven't had them deliver the bike back to me because of our snowy weather up here in CANADA... From what I recall when I looked in the contents of the alarm when they dshipped it to me was that the shock and tilt is the same as rLink and must be done on the MCM

As I said , just call them to get the real answers you seek....

Yeah, unfortunately it can't be adjusted via your phone or the computer log in. It has to be done on the bike/device. Its not hard to do, just could be a pain to get to depending on where you've placed it.

The Ride system appears to be very similar to the original RLink system, which I have. The proximity sensor is a separate module and the sensitivity is adjusted manually on the module. The tilt / shock sensitivity had predetermined settings which could be selected via ignition key turns and alarm remote.

The RLink and Ride system use the same remote app on Android systems. I don't see any option to make an adjustment via the app. The only option I see on the app that I can't access is the TPMS options.

After reading this, I went to their website and had a look at the system.. looks really slick IMO and the features look really what a comprehensive anti-theft tracking system needs to have.. it also is probably cheaper than the DP alarm system which just has a basic siren..

I am seriously thinking of installing this on the SL.. that bike surely needs this.. ;)

Do it man, it's a good setup. I really like mine and gives good peace of mind.

Couldn't agree more seeing the features offered.. a sure buy in my eyes

Totally! It's cool because if you want to just start with the core system, you later add on the perimeter sensor or tire pressure monitoring system if you want to. You aren't forced to pay for something you may not want. And plus the features of the app, tracking rides, mileage etc on top of the alarm, sensor and tracking features is huge bonus. And perhaps the best and most important thing of all, is that it works. Haha, sometimes I think we get so caught up in all the hype we lose track of the main reason we buy something - does it really work?

The perimeter sensor appears kinda overkill in terms of making the sensitivity of it too much but I guess it can be adjusted.. The TPMS is something I would add as I wish the 1199 had TPMS built in to the electronics like how the Multistrada has.. am guessing thats a touring bike perk eh

The app tracking and alerts to ur phone is really cool and it entices u more and more u read abt it.. I was looking at the data plan thing and the yearly option wouldnt make sense for me atleast as I live in MN and 10 bucks aint too bad for the month by month plan

Agree with the fact that they made the features/addons dynamic to allow varied user choices which is good and the fact that u and Prince vouch for their excellent customer service underlines that there would be no regrets on the purchase and its really good value for money..

Thx bro for sharing this.. would sure benefit a lot of us interested in a good security system.. Lastly.. sorry abt ur R6 man.. sucks when that happens

You have to get this for some piece of mind ,.. Come on an SL ! no time to get that .... stolen..
...I always knew where my 1198s was according to the GPS signal on the rLink and my smartphone.....

Can't wait to try out the new Ride system on my TRI

On your SL... Without a Doubt You have to get this

PS- just curious , which company insured you?
It made a difference on my premiums when I told them I had the ride alarm and it was a GPS trackable device that could be linked to send an emergency signal for the police..

I use ALLSTATE insurance..

I have State Farm and their rate was pretty low for my R ($520 bucks for a yr with pretty high coverage levels) but I am sure this will keep my rate down for the SL..

An old bump to see how the system is running? Planning on purchasing. Any anyone tried the additional modules? Tire pressure etc?

Dang you all !!!!!!!! My order is in for this now. $100 for the tire sensors? Yea l shall check them the old fashion way. Thanks to all for the info on this product. .

Where did you order from?

I have the system on my Tricore and runs flawlessly.. You can even set up geonfences that send you a text any time your bike leaves the permitter you had set up

Got it from ridescorpio.com

I also like that I can tell when my bike is being worked on by that feature mentioned above and I can see how far and how hard it was ridden by the techs when they finish a job. Pretty sweet setup and I'm going on two years with it and I'd buy it again in an instant. Aside from my initial issues, likely due to it being new hardware they had just come out with, I haven't had any issues.
