Always been car sick most of my life.

Last 3 years when pushing it in the canyons, has been getting me motion sick to different degrees. Not too bad, but noticeable.

Anyone else getting this?

Nope. Not even when looking at a wadded, burning pile of my own bike parts after a crash on the track. Understand if you don't want to share it here, but I suggest taking a look at what's changed with your overall health and diet in the past 3 years for contributing factors.

I don't ride if I'm mentally or physically worn out. I prefer quality rides over quantity. If I had car sickness issues I'd never have gotten into motorcycles in the first place. If I ever developed them, it would probably be time (for me) to hang it up.

Mental focus is a big issue for me if I'm tired or have other .... on my mind. I've turned back from 400mi rides 50mi in after not being able to get my brain in gear that day. Listen to your gut, it'll save your life.

Regardless, best wishes sorting it out!

Still focused and sharp. Health is top notch. I was training for a half marathon 2 years ago.

Its not bad enough to slow me down or stop me, was just wondering if this semi normal.

I know in car racing it is normal, but bikes I have heard very little on.

It happened to me for about 2 years...in my case clearly related to heat/dehydration. I have changed my diet substantially in the last year, perhaps the reason why it doesn't happen anymore

Yep, my wife gets it. (Passenger)

There are motion sickness pills at the pharmacy that work pretty well... (For her)

Do you just get the Nausea or is it accompanied with Vertigo or Dizziness as well?

How old are you? Any history of inner ear problems? Is your hearing normal?

Is your car sickness due to the motion or due to the smell of the car? Have you tried eating something salty while in a car such as lemon juice with salt to see if that gets rid of the nausea?

If it is motion related you need to see an ENT specialist to rule out any inner ear problems. Do you get nausea when you play games where it require a lot of eye and head movements? There is a connection between the inner ear and eye movements, could be that when you are moving fast in the Canyons you are testing your senses to its limits and you are getting Nausea as a result. Doctors do test you for that too, they have some cool tests!

Sorry for all the questions, I am just trying to help :)

It's inner ear related, I expierenced it some years back on my S3 Thunderbolt, Little Tujunga Canyon Road, fast tight up hill 3 mile long left right section. I had to pull over and puke.
I have not had it happen since.

Slight nausea, never puked or even felt like it.

No vertigo or dizzy

How old are you?

51

Nope

Is your hearing normal?

yes.

I do get ear wax and infections, first time swimming when or if water gets trapped.

been using the home kit to keep the canals clean flushing them out few times a year.

Motion.

Always had to sit up front.

Even now on windy roads driving if long enough, ill get nauseated but that's like 2 hours of steep canyon to go fishing.

It doesn't.

Food helps for a while though.

Nope none.

No problems thanks man. That's why I posted.

I was having trouble sleeping after 5 years of court and family law, custody fight I won with my daughter. I was using those over the counter blue sleeping pills and that made it much worse. Been off those for 9 months and while better, still notice it after 60-100 miles of canyons. That is about the time it started. Maybe it will take another year to get my head right lol ;)

Well im not alone, sorry brother. Not a club im looking to join :p

Funny my race hill is 3 miles up, and if I do 2 round trips full bore about 12 miles, I can feel it. Some days more then others. Doesn't effect my riding per say. But ill be on the couch the rest of the afternoon.

Very likely an inner ear thing, though points made about heat and dehydration are good ones, as there can be multiple contributing factors. I have had it myself, but discovered that it was caused by the ear plugs I was using putting excessive and uneven L/R pressure on my inner ears. Once I figured that out it hasn't been an issue. If you ride with plugs, I'd suggest a brief sortie on a twisty road without them to see if it helps. If it does, then experiment with different plugs or not fitting them as tight. A helmet with a larger eyeport will also be helpful so your helmet is not getting in your peripheral vision as much when you're looking out of it at the more extreme angles you do when you're caning it on a canyon road.

There are video games, not many, but a few, that will make me nauseous within a few minutes of watching. If I ride through a wooded area on a sunny day and my eyes detect sun, shade, sun, shade, repeatedly as the sun filters through the trees (kind of like a strobe light), I'll experience the same sensation by the time I return home. Eyes, ears, something else... who knows?

I get seasick & motion sickness pretty easily and sometimes when driving the motorcycle in a track I get nausea.
