I test rode a Panigale recently and this was one of the first things I noticed. My S1000RR will cruise smoothly and accelerate in 6th no problem at about 35mph and up. The Pani seemed to be laboring slightly in 6th even at 75mph. I couldn't agree more. I too had a s1000rr, and while it is an awesome bike, the panigale is more involving and fun to ride.

I'm still in break in period so I will let you know very soon

. Whatever speed the rider is comfortable is where they should be riding. I wouldrecommend trying to keep RPMs a little higher for better throttle response. This was taught to me by Reg and Jason Pridemore.

You can always change the gearing so your not doing a 100MPH but still keep RPMs high
