I don't know if I'd be brave enough to chemically strip Magnesium Alloy Rims. I had a set and the Aircraft Mechanics told me "don't you dare"! They have special Aircraft Grade media stripper for Mag alloy parts. After that I had to apply a Magnesium Chromate before they could be painted. I'd seen what happened to a guy who stripped and painted a set of Marvic Pentas so I listened intently. One collapsed on him mid race. Now, I'm sure there's no comparison with a set of new Marchesini forged alloy rims, but still, I'd be asking Marchesini.
