Rizoma turn signal problem

Hey everyone.... I recently installed an Evotech tail tidy on my Pani. I bought a set of Rizoma signal second hand from a buddy and after installing them, I am getting an intermitent failuire of the left signal. The right seems to work ok. There is really no rhyme or reason as to why they work sometime and other time they stop.

I have had the new dash ECU installed like everyone else and this has not occured with the factory signals since the new ECU install.

My question is this... are there resistors that need to be installed in-line with the wires to make a Rizoma signals work correctly on the Panigale?

Thanks!

Sounds like a connection issue to me if your front signals aren't effected, I would go over each one again and make sure. There are no resistors with the Rizomas. Did you use the Rizoma cable connector or did you splice?

Hey, when this happens does your right signal not turn off and/or your up button not work? Is it both lefts?

Known dash issue, just had mine replaced for it. Without resisters it just flashes fast, it isn't required.

SMASHED IT LIKE A PASTY!

I removed the factory connectors then soldered and heat shrunk the wires. I just can't believe there is a problem with my connection... unless it is in the factory clip?

The rear just stops working and the front just fast blinks when it does stop in the rear.

My dash ECU has been replaced with the new ECU already.

Thanks for the replies gentlemen.

Connection issue. With the Rizoma indicators you are well better off getting the actual Rizoma connector cables, they save about half an hour installation time and work well. I have noted that they require specific mirror brackets and not the brackets that a lot of dealers have posted.

Side note : With them sexy Rizoma mirrors arriving shortly, it will be interesting to see what the recommended wiring method will be.

Rizoma mirrors???

looking at getting the rizoma turn sigs. Are the rizoma connector cables plug and play with the factory harness?

I believe the answer is no. I always cut the OEM connectors and attached them to the new signals.

I have the Rizoma Turn signals. Rizoma makes an adapter harness that is plug n play for the Panigale (not included with the turn signals. you have to buy them separately). You also need the resistor in line for both Left and right that comes in the box of the turn signal (The signals don't come as pairs). I believe mine came with 2 or 3 different sets of resistors in each box. If I remember you need the one with 3 wires on the resistor.

Apologies Zvez, I just saw your question. Re: Indicators, If you get the separately sold Rizoma connector cables they are plug and play with the factory harness, they save about 30 mins install time (well worth it).

Re: Rizoma mirrors, unsure at the moment, I should have them on release and I will let you know.

Do u have any photos of Pani with Rizoma / Evotech?

As another poster mentioned you need to use one resistor per rizoma turn signal. When I installed mine this weekend they would not work at all without the resistors. The rizoma instructions said use one resistor for a 10W bulb which is what was in my stock rear turn signals.

When I checked for voltage at the end of the leads without the rear turn signal attached I got 0.5V constant - with the bar switch in any position (left, right, off). The front indicators flashed as usual.

The ECU is controlling the turn signals, I suspect it is looking for a certain resistance from the rear bulbs.

I hid the resistors etc in the hollow sub frame under the riders seat. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1364862930.608215.jpg

Yea, mine have me scratching my head big time... I have checked all my connections and they are solid. My left will cease sometimes and then other times work flawlessly. The right never fails.

Its very similar to the issue I had prior to having the dash display changed. I have no resistors installed but since one side never fails, I can't understand how they are needed?

My left rear quit working as well.

Use one resistor per light and not a problem since.
