Hi there,
I am new to this forum as well as to my new beast:)
Have a question regarding this,
I found on page 46 to the manual.

Engine rpm indication
The engine rpm is displayed using a rev counter featuring a colored wake: gray in DAY mode and white in NIGHT mode
When the wake becomes amber yellow, the instrument panel is warning the rider to shift up. The red wake flashes when the limiter kicks in and the Over-rev warning lights (12 and 13, Fig 12) turn on.
If the number of rpm is lower than 1,000 RPM, the wake is not displayed.

I don't see any change in colours on my screen. Could you please advise.
Best, Tamir, Israel.

During the first 1000km, the tachometer will flash above 6000 rpm. The first service will return the indicator band to normal operation.

I can't help with the shift and over Rev indicators as I have not had the engine up past 11,000 rpm. The engine is getting smoother after a few 1000 US miles

It's really strange for me. I already finished the break in. No colours at all. I found on youtube that on 6K it starts falshing in yellow, somewhen switch to red. Above 6K or something turn back to black.
Maybe DDA unit is needed, which I don't have. Although it's not written on manual.

if the tachometer 'needle' is black in the day time up to 6000 and orange after 6000, i would tend to believe the tech needs to repeat the first servive update.

Mine is black too.
Sounds strange, service has been done, service light turned off, all seems ok, but still always black.

the bike in the video posted has NOT had the first service. at 18 seconds into the video, the rpms drop below 6 and the tack 'needle' goes to black (or grey if you want.)

it should be black until you pound the upper most rev zone. i haven't been there yet.

Highest I’ve gone is 8k RPM.

This exactly what my dealer said to me.
If this right, it's not so clever to take to limits before first service..

I get the whole ride your own ride thing, but if you watch any videos and whatnot of the dash turning colors (post break in service), it isn't happening at RPMs that low. Simply putting the bike in neutral and revving it out would show you your bike isn't faulty and displays the color change.

Did exactly that, all black at 12k

Interesting, must not work in neutral. Haven't tried it myself on a stand but have definitely seen it happen on the road. Maybe it would work if it is in gear with the clutch pulled in. Either way, redline of 1st is only 80ish miles per hour on the V4, the V2 is likely geared shorter, shouldn't be hard at all to hop on the highway and just hold off on shifting a little longer.
