RPM indication

Seems like there was a dash update that gives the colour, mine was regularly up in the rev range and no colours, in for annual service and line item was dash update and now have red and yellow but its well up the rev range
 
Any update on this? Mine doesn't do it and it has had its first service done to it. It doesn't flash orange/yellow and then red for shifting at any rpm.
 
I just had the first serviced performed by the dealer and my indicator no longer shows orange/yellow at lower RPMs - now it's just black/gray. Bike also seems newly unrestricted above 8K RPMs.
