So I bought the termi slip on for my 1199 had an issue with the up map, so it currently sent it new one on the way. Had a actual half way decent day of weather here, friends took their bikes out to a Starbucks( none of them have Ducatis so we aren't the only ones) but I took my wife's bike since it needed to be ridden. But the question came up how bad would it be if you rode the bike without the up map loaded, honestly I cant see it being that bad but that's just me. I haven't ridden the bike yet and I'll wait till the up map shows up but was just curious.

I did this and thought the bike ran like .... below 6000 rpms. The surging and poor fueling was worse and it backfired a lot. Above 6k it was about the same as with the slip-ons.

Ride it and don't worry about it. With the 1/2 system it will run a little leaner, though not enough to cause issues. As well, most have found that the stock tuning and UP Maps are biased to the rich side anyway, so without the up map you may be closer to "optimal" AFR than you would think.

That's kinda what I figured, most of my friends looked at it from the standpoint of most when they get a slip on, it mostly gets it closer to a optimal since they come rich from the factory. My friend with the S1000 put it this way, you don't run out for a custom tune right away with a slip on, hell he has a full akra and won't get it tuned.
The one side of me knows it will be fine it's the other don't want to do anything to hurt the bike side that suggests others wise.

I thought there was some dyno info from Austin Racing that showed better performance without installing the original upmap with the slip-ons.

Here is the dyno. It just shows it without up map, no dyno on it with the up map. I have read through each of their threads and copied the dyno charts. Maybe you can find one in a thread here from someone who had the slip ons installed with up map. Shouldn't be too hard to find. I'll try to search for it. Hope this helps
