196 miles in and the Sachs rear unit decided to come apart and lose its oil all over the furnace unit under the seat and the back tire. Anyone else?

bummer...hopefully not while you were riding hard.

I actively look over my bike, finnally pulled both side fairings off this weekend and look over everything...

surprised I haven't found any hardware work it's way loose yet...unlike my 1198 :)

Wow! Back in the day I processed literally thousands of motorcycle warranty claims (Jap bikes) and I've seen all sorts of failures, but never a shock.

If you've got a good dealer maybe he can swap it for an off the shelf Ohlins unit? Probably not, but it would be nice.

Duc Pond in Winchester - pretty good shop, but they need more techs. After waiting 6 months for the bike, I will not accept "we have lots of bikes to deliver, we will get to it."

Dude, if you got all your Ducs from them and have built a relationship, noway you should entertain that BS:cool:

Good to hear :)

We can't expect our beautiful bikes to be free from faults and issues, they are machines after all.

We can, however, expect our dealers to do their upmost in addressing such items and as a loyal and longstanding customer, you sir deserve the EXTRA mile.
