phl, do you have a timeline on the drain plugs?

Hey timwu12
Let Phl just do the job. All these kind of projects are done by some senior members like Phl in their free time. These are non-profit forum projects, and it takes a huge amount of free time to design, organise, finding a manufacturer who does the production for a reasonable price, and doing the shipping.

Enjoy the bolts you'll get: they will be unique and give your bike even more "personality" :)

Cheers

see, i have an upper management position in engineering, working on 2 locations in the US and 1 in mexico, do customer visits around the world, have an older house, go racing, 2 dogs, do the exhaust stuff, oh and there's the wife and the kid...

LOL

plan is to have them by christmas nonetheless.

forza ducati

Phil:
I've been out of the loop for 5 months. I see this finally came to fruition; congratulations!
Anyway, let me know if there is still a set available. I'll send $ via PayPal.

What the heck did I miss here? Are people actually having valve cover bolts back out after tightening? Or is this a bling thing?

I am trying to find the pic of my oil soaked rear heat shield resulting in an ended trackday ...

So yeah. They come loose, the heads spill oil and if you're .... outta luck, it ends up on your rear tire, while exploring shenanigans like elbow dragging

Well that sucks. I replaced the stock bolts when the motor went together and tightened to spec. Just checked them all. Right where they should be and zero oil res at 9200 miles. The bolt heads are drilled but I never thought to wire them. Maybe not a bad idea.

Also LJuice had the center one on the horizontal cylinder coming loose during a race. Mine was on the vertical cylinder

Proper torque is not the only factor. Heat cycles, vibration... thread lock gives up.
I was pitted with him and we fixed it. He made the next race. His bike had been professionally maintained

styler, yours are en route!

here's the pic of the oil soaked heat shield.

bottom line: cost me 6 out of 8 sessions and the whole next day at Roebling.
and as mentioned, i was lucky that i rolled out before it got on the tire or in between someone else's tire and the tarmac.

phl, do you have a timeline on the drain plugs?

drain plug drawings and 1299 cover bolts are submitted to the manufacturer.
waiting for quotes.

drain plug magnets are already ordered, one pulls almost 8 lbs!!! they are high temperature grade.

The package arrived just in time for Christmas.... Thank you Santa Claus! I have something to install on the Panigale over the holidays.. Merry Christmas

Phil: my bolts arrived by courier on Friday. Thank you very much for the excellent product and timely service. You are an asset to this community.

I'm still blown away by the drain plug. Thanks again for this!! Attention to detail is astounding!

FYI the black side covers help but they still need to be retorqued down as they still come loose.

Or install safety wire valve cover bolts
