I'm not sure what your primary purpose for the hooks is (cosmetic vs. functional), but if you mostly need them as strap down anchors for transport, eyebolts work great and are much cheaper. I just remove mine for the track and put them back on for the ride home.
Yes, this is true. But, a TRS is not always desirable for all applications.
I have a TRS for when I trailer w/ my buddy, and it's fantastic. When I don't trailer w/ him, it's in my truck bed and I'm not boring holes into my truck for a TRS.
But yes, if a TRS is feasible, it's for sure the way to go.
