Yes I know it sounds a bit crazy but I could not believe my eyes when I saw one on the road today on my way back from work, it was a white one with red rims.

Not as loud as the stock 1199 but how on earth did that guy got hold of one?

Nopes, definitely not fat, looked like an average built. I did not see any wires or anything attached to the bike just normal riding on country side roads.

So not this guy then??

Dunno, you kinda left that part out.

Sure it wasnt a GSXR ? lol...

where abouts was it?
most dealers in UK received their demos this week

It was on B4027 Coventry Road near Brinklow.

Probably Ducati Coventry demo bike, their tech posted on facebook he rode their bike home tonight
There is also a customer who has posted on FB he collected his Red one today

Yes, you are correct. Just visited their Facebook page and they have posted a picture of it in their workshop. I will go have a look at it this weekend!

Get a go on one, I rode one last week and its a brilliant bit of kit in reality its better road bike than an 1199

Oh nice, you were on the case before every one else..

Could you write a few words for other forum members as well about your thoughts about the 899 please? What makes it so different to the 1199 in your opinion, etc etc?

Thanks!

It is just generally easier to ride, with the more relaxed riding position and quicker steering it feels like a 250
also the engine is very smooth initially it feels a bit flat as it doesn't have the kick like 1199 but once you get used to it and rev it a bit more it has more than enough go
suspension is also much more forgiving on our bumpy roads

Went to the dealers today and had a good look at the 899, not too bad to be honest. Did not get the chance to test ride it because the weather was a bit rubbish, however one guy managed to test ride it and got back saying it was a 'good sports bike'.

Now, he had not ridden the 1199 so I was not sure what he really meant by that.

Your feedback says it is a good bike as well, my question is, if you had the money would you buy one over an 1199?

I have an 1199 already, the 899 is a different thing generally a lot easier to ride and probably a better bike for everyday riding
would have to do more miles on one and not in the wet like when I rode the 899
I think power wise it has plenty you just have to work it more than the bigger bike
