I need a new seat. The stock is racking my nads.

Is the comfort seat worth it? Or is there a better choice out there?

Me and my jewels are desperate guys. I used to think the r6 was rigid and uncomfortable. Its like a cloud compared to this seat.

I haven't tried any other but the stocker and the comfort seat. I took a ~2.5 hour ride on the stock seat and it was killing me. Bought a DP Comfort seat the next day. Night and day difference but it is taller which some folks don't like.

Ok im gonna get a price from the dealer. They gave me a great price on the comfort seat. Wish i could sit on both and choose.

Guy that sold me the bike says the comfort seat is great and cheaper the 899 seat. He likes it better then 899 seat.

Hmmm.

The comfort seat is worth it. I placed the regular seat on mine for now while I get new seat covers for my comfort seat. You don't slip, a lot more comfortable for you and a passenger. I would recommend it if your wanting comfort and no slippage.

I have both and like them. I would say it depends on what you're doing with the bike. I've done 200+ mile runs on both and it's no problem with either. The DP Comfort seat holds you in place better but adds seat height, can put more strain on your wrists, and boosts me noticeably more over my racing screen. The 899 seat still has a comfortable amount of padding, is more slick, but you feel a little more in the bike.

If I'm doing short runs around town, less than 50 miles or so I'd prefer the 899 seat. For cruising or more laid back riding with a passenger I do like the additional padding on the comfort seat. The comfort seat also looks much better if that's a consideration.

TONS AND TONS of threads on this topic here Stan!
Like everything else there are more opinions on this issue just like tires, oil, and so many other things. Best bet is to buy two of them and just return the one you don't like - and simply keep the one you do like. However, that would be tough if you went with the Luimoto route due to Gel Pads and all that jazz. It surely LOOKS hotter than a comfort seat but whether or not it FEELS better to YOU is the deciding factor right?

I personally have the Luimoto one w Gel Pads and the comfort seat too for longer rides. Have yet to try out the Luimoto one on a ride longer than an hour or so.

Someone mentioned above to get both and return one. That might be your best option as most dealers don't stock the extra seat. Though sitting on the 899 seat will give you an idea there.

The race seat is best if you plan on tracking the bike or want to ride more akin to how this bike should be ridden. The comfort seat is softer but many people fine the comfort seat pushes you forward and more upright. Thereby you end up riding with more weight on your wrists. If you don't plan on kind of tucking and are planning on riding upright then the comfort seat is fine. However as mentioned earlier it isn't conducive to "proper" riding where your weight is not on your wrists.

Other options including luimoto and raceseats. Most all just replace using the same screw except for race seats which require a longer bolt for attachment.

I can get the comfort seat for 200 bucks. Good price. I do mostly town riding and back roads riding. Some cornering thrown in there. Nothing to aggressive.

I have gotten more used to the stock seat. But man the balls into the tank thing is bugging me. only thing I don't like about this machine. Everything else is stellar.

I think whatever I get as long as it has decent padding I can get used to it. I need to fabricate a cod piece for the tank. hahah

Thanks guys.

I actually prefer the stock to comfort seat. I like sliding from one side of the seat to the other.. With the comfort seat you're just planted

That's exactly what I want. The most sticky, planted, seat there is.

Might be a weight or leverage/shape difference between riders. I'm 6'2, way over 200lbs (but coming down). I can't stop from sliding into thee tank even if I grip till my legs cramp up.

The comfort seat is the way to go. I had a few opportunities where I wanted to toss my bike away and do the Indian war dance in the middle of the road after smacking my balls into the tank. The comfort seat is a lot easier on my butt and the balls into the tank problem went away, never to be seen again. :D
