Seat choice

Had the comfort seat and now the race seat and to me, tons better. Comfort seat is somewhat better on the bum, but it is higher and the same height as the race seat in the front so you end up getting tilted forward.

Race seat is lower than comfort seat where you sit so you are in a more natural position to carry your weight with your torso instead of with your arms. I find it firmer than comfort but more comfortable and less fatiguing as the ride goes on.

Same here. After using the DP Comfort seat for about 6 months I went back to the stock seat and prefer it now. Because of ride position and ability to slide around on it easier. I did put some heat reflective tape on the bottom of it which made it a little cooler.
But the DP comfort seat's just gathering dust on the shelf now.

hopfully this will help you out a little bit as i have rode all 3 for long periods of time.

stock seat- worst thing ever change it no matter what you do i hate it and has no grip smash your nads under hard breaking.

lui seat - seat looks fantastic good grip and with the gel insert feels great too but if you put in multi hour rides could get to be a problem. you can now customize the material as well as the look through them

comfort seat or race seat - yes they are exactly the same except for the red stitching and the race seat is the same material all the way around (comfort after the stitching material changes). This is my seat of choice for longer 250 plus mile rides and still feels great. the only drawback is if you are taller it puts you directly into the wind. i believe it adds 3 inches in ride height so you feel like you are on the bike instead of in the bike.

899 seat never used it.

I have the stock, race, comfort and 899 seat. I agree with Mark except to me the difference between the race seat and comfort seat is that the race seat would put your butt slightly more backwards while the comfort seat keeps you a little closer to the tank. I feel the 899 is the best compromise between grip, ride height and comfort for someone 6 ft and above. Im no longer looking for the perfect seat.
