Service Indicator

Interesting threat. Did you guys managed reset the oil change indicator? I live in republic of Georgia and the nearest dealers of Ducati is around 700 KM away in another country.

I haven't tried it yet, but on the Tune Boy software it has a service reset function. I'm on my second dash, but have 400kms to go before I need to reset the 1000km service warning.

Maybe someone else can comment if they have used that software function, if not I'll let you know in a few weeks.

From TuneBoy Manual:
Service Indicator Reset To clear the Oil Service or Desmo Service indicator you need to go to the "Tools" menu and select "Reset Service Indicator". This will clear the service indicator light from the dash. This option only works if you have a TuneBoy map loaded into the ECU. It will not work on a standard Ducati map.

Are you trying to reset a Ducati map? ...or a TuneBoy map?

If using wifi...try using USB for a more reliable connection.

I gather from previous posts that TuneBoy don't reply if the answer is in their manual.

My warranty is up in January. Just had dash replaced and service indicator reset and plan to buy a TuneBoy interface in December when I pass through Sydney. Ducati say they can't alter the CAN data after a dash change, so depending on mileage the service intervals get staggered the wrong way i.e. Major service and minor services get swapped. Let's hope Audi can have some influence in sorting this out for them just as VCDS has for VW vehicles. It's so easy to reset the Golf using VCDS.

Yes Adrien read and followed the manual many times. It even says in the bottom corner of the screen "loading service indicator" and yet nothing, that is why I have contacted Tuneboy.

Hopefully when you get your own tune boy you will get to deal with Wayne and see how unhelpful they can be.

Do you have the service warning or do you still have mileage left before that service is due? The reason I ask is that to my knowledge the oil service miles can not be reset till it hits the appropriate miles for the service.

Like I said, the Socio system available through Technoresearch does work with Panigale. I have reset Service Indicators on base Panigale, Panigale S, and Panigale R models without difficulty.

I am also in the boat of performing my own service. I just got my Pani a month ago with 2 miles on the odometer, but with spring around the corner I'm sure the first service is going to come quickly. I contacted Technoresearch about bout the Centurion-S diagnostics tool for the 1199's Mitsubishi ECU. Currently they do not have one, but have not ruled it out. The only other options I see right now are the Socio 390, possibly the MS6050 from motorcyclescanner.com, or the 3 hour trip to dealer. I can see where a decent diagnostic tool would be handy to have around, not just to reset a service indicator.

I reset my service indicator using the Tuneboy. It was a few months ago, but from what I remember you can only reset it if you have a Tuneboy map on the bike. You cannot reset the factory map.

The service indicator reset is done with the trim file. Open TuneBoyTrim and open the trim file you plan to use. Then go to tools, and reset oil service indicator (or the other service indicator if needed), then save this trim file. You must then upload this new trim file in which you selected the indicator reset and flash it to the ECU.

I ended up buying the MS6050 scanning tool from motorcyclescanner.com. It was a healthy chunk of change, but I believe any investment in tools is a good one. The service indicator came on today indicating it was time for my first service. I opted to do it myself, and it went very smoothly. I do not know all the capabilities of the DDS 2.0 system, but the MS6050 looks like it can do anything one would need it to do, other than uploading new ECU updates. I had no problem resetting the service indicator (took about 2 minutes start to finish). So far I'm really happy with the Panigale and the scanning tool. Like I said, it is a bit pricey, but if you do your own maintenance It might be for you.

Do you do the adjustments from the hand held or do you need a pc?

Everything is done from the handheld. A PC is used if you need to update software/firmware on the handheld unit itself however.
