Recapping, my '15R spun a rod bearing at The Ridge and destroyed the engine...warranty denied b/c it was a track bike. Brian at Boulder Motorsports is finishing up the new build...taking delivery this Saturday at Chuckwalla.... '13 RS engine purchased from Shakey's garage and rebuilt with rod bearings sized for racing/trackdays, updated crankcase bearings, close-ratio gearbox, WSBK camshafts, new pistons/cylinders, Ti intake and exhaust valves, 3-angle valve job, mill head, balance and blueprint...Supertech finish to all internal parts....

Dyno'd today on same dyno as '15R. Red is new build, blue is the stock engine....

:) Gitty-up!

Cost is on my computer at office, will share tomorrow...think around 16k...vs 23 for dealer to rebuild original.

Hey Nick...look for my white GMC and red trailer...should be there around 5pm Friday....

Yea...denied per Motocorsa b/c it was a "dedicated track bike." Track days only, no racing...yet....

side note question:
when you say track bike...Ducati deny because it was Race bike for competition or casual track day rider?

How do they determine Tracks day only to Track day / daily ride? It seem like a bull .... to me.

If it was Race competition bike...ok I can understand.

G...yea...be there all 3 days as well...should be epic!

Track-only:track bodywork, slicks...plus I just am honest with the dealer. And yes...it is BS on DNA's part.

The crazy thing is, for most that ride their bikes on the street, when they take it to the track, they would put on track bodywork and some might have a second set of wheels for track day slicks. Differentiating that would be difficult yet, if your engine blew up at the track and you trailered your bike to the dealer as is, it'd have the track bodywork and slicks on it, even though you might primary be a street rider only.

Complete ......... DNA should be ....... ashamed of themselves. This isn't a Monster that was rev'd to the moon at a trackday and blew up. It's a superbike designed for the track and marketed as such!!! I love this brand but if that were me I'd be shopping for an aprilia right now...

exactly. I guess you have to switch back to OEM fairings before you take it back to Dealer. :D
