Hi All,

Apologies in advance if this question is in the wrong forum.

Just purchased a pair of Sidi Vortice boots and find it very hard to kick the side stand down on a 1299 Panigale. Does anybody have the same problem?

I find I have to use my hand to put the stand down.

Cheers
Chris

You can drill a 4mm hole into the upper flat surface, tap a thread and mount a nice stainless Allen cap bolt ( will be hardly noticeable) and your boot will collect it every time you look for it.
Just a thought

Yes. You are right. I have same problem with Sidi. Much less problem with Dainese.

Had the same problem with MAG-1's. Took a while to finally find the sweet spot. Now I can do it without much effort.

I had the same problem with the side stand at first. Just a word of warning with the Vortice. I bought a pair back in 2012 when I first got my 1199. A couple of times the inside of the boot got caught on something on the bike. Probably the heel guards. Over the years it happened 5 or 6 times and one time nearly caused me to drop the bike as leg was stuck. Just got it out in time. Anyway I changed to the Mag 1 boot when it came out as there is no external brace on the inside of the boot.

And yes I use the tip of my boot too.

on my previous bike I had a different problem with the Vortice.
couldn't insert the boot to shift gears (too thick), gave me a good reason to buy rearsets :D

Had the same problem on mine, the front stitching near the ankle was bad and that caused the heal guard to catch and hook on it. I got that fixed at a local shoe repair and it hasn't been a problem since.

I hook my toe on the side stand, awkward but not impossible.

+1 on the toe technique.

Practice in the garage a few times first, you'll get it

didnt know using your toe was a technique. i never used my heal ever to get the stand down. actually using the heel makes no sense to me at all but what do i know :p

Toe from behind footpeg for 1199, heel in front of footpeg for cbr600rr. Yep I have vortice as well
