ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!
Why cant ducati make a slave cylinder to save their lives?????
had 1098, slave cylinder went 3 times, had 1198, it went twice, now I havent even hit 1000 miles and loosing pressure rapidly...
Cant find neutral and clutch engages less than a quarter of an inch away from the grip. not only that Ferracci overfilled the bike with oil and its smoking! fed up!!!

Sorry to hear that bud, I guess I've been lucky in that respect...had 23K miles on my Streetfighter and never an issue with the slave cylinder, none with the Hypermotard and now with over 1600 miles on the Panigale no issues except for a new fuel pump that started to crap out around 400 miles, hope you get it sorted out soon.

That's unusual for a slave on a duc to go bad that quickly. On the six or seven I had with lots of miles only had one seal fail.

Do you see fluid leaking?

Mine boils fluid, the same as the Desmo, but not as badly.

It is usually the rod turning within the slave and heating the fluid.

You can bleed it easily using an 11mm spanner at the top of the master cylinder as the air thankfully rises to exactly that point.

My Pani does it in about 400mls. The desmo runs hot and boils it's clutch slave every 150mls!

Just carry a small 11mm and a tissue with ya!

Mine went out on my multi after 1000 miles - was equally pissed - I feel your pain bro

Maybe that's why I have to bleed the damn thing every 1,000 miles! My buddy had to do the SMS thing on his 1198 SP until he replaced his slave.

Did I just get lucky? You guys have me looking over my shoulder so to speak constantly, waiting to find something gone bad.

So far I've lost two bolts, had the shift rod bolt back out, and a bolt come out with an oil change. No "real" issues as a result.

I think someone has said it before but it is the unhappy who are most vocal. Not sure how many people lurk here and how many actually post but if they are not replying, they probably are not having bad luck. Knock on wood, my bike has been out of the shop for 13 days now. The longest I have ever had this bike in my possession since 5/31. Prior to that, my record was 8 days. It is good that others are not suffering and my hope is that others can learn from the issues in case they too experience the problem and then the resolution might be a bit faster. That is my hope!

I suppose... I've never had my bike down for more than a couple hours at 3800 miles. And just because you have nothing to bitch about doesn't mean you can't try to help or share experiences with the bike etc. I don't think that most people here, or with Ducati's in general, really work on their own stuff and you have people like the guy recording his exhaust cooling off as a mechanical defect???

2100 miles on my S and lost pressure to the clutch. Bleeding it brought it back to life. Pretty sure it is boiling the fluid.

Bleeding was the cure but I know another rider on the same bike with 2300 miles that doesn't have this problem. I'm going to switch to aftermarket like I always do.just wish they would have solved this by now. Other than that this bitch rocks!!.
