I didn't have a good look at this, but can anyone tell me what tool you need to get the stock foot pegs off? Looks like it's one of those C clip thingies. As you can tell I'm an expert at tools. :D

According to my dealer, they are called E clips. My friend broke one of mine trying to take it off. Then I tried it myself. I took some needle nosed pliers, pulled one side (top of the E) back ever so slightly, then pulled the other side (bottom of the E) back just a bit, then pulled back from the center (middle of the E). None of the rest of the clips broke.

looks someone took a dremel to the stock pegs? ;) j/k

I went with the rizomas which are shaped very similar to the stock pegs and pretty good looking

Where did you get the Rizomas? Can;t ride with the slippery footpegs anymore

I put CNC Racing pegs (bought from Bellissimoto) on mine. What a difference! They are definitely shorter than stock. Upon fit-up and first trial I thought I'd hate 'em, but with boots on they're quite comfortable around town and are MUCH better than stock once the pace picks up. Nice crenelated ends dig into boot soles and provide excellent grip.

You're welcome to put a foot on 'em, Zaster....being in town 'n stuff. We're a dealer for Bellissimoto and several others, but I heartily recommend these as they're relatively inexpensive and require no adapter. Just pull the pin, switch the spring over, and reinsert the pin.

Has anyone roughed-up their stock pegs?
(I have DP rearsets myself).

I have wondered if simply using coarse grit sandpaper or even a fine rasp
working front to back would provide enough perpendicular friction to overcome
the slipperiness that I read about...

You mean "roughed up" as opposed to Dremmel shaping?

Yes.
I mean simply to create additional texture on the existing surface,
As opposed to Dremeling cuts and grooves...
