So I really did not think I would meet another person who bought the same bike as me, before we actually had the bikes. Its one thing to see one another on the street and stop shoot the bull and carry on. No I had to go and do a job sunday night and I run into this guy that can not stop talking about this bike he is buying. Asked him about the bike and tell him that I bought the same one. WOW that is so cool. Any how just thought I would share this, not too important to most but is to me a large city and I run into him on a job!!
Me on the show bike in Edmonton.

he has a VERY big ego lol. But he is a cool guy,, I have seen him around,, his 848 EVo is cool looking. Not as nice as my RSV4 tho ;p

Thats a matter of opinion, which bike looks better I mean. The RSV4 is a nice bike but better than a Ducati I don't think so! lol

You guys are lucky that they let you sit on the bike. In the NYC show, no sitting on the bike even for paid future members!

What do they think you will do to it, fire it up and rip around the show! I do not see the big deal, is that not the whole idea show off the bikes and sell them. Who would buy a bike without sitting on it first, I mean besides the 1199 because most people did. Lets be real here you are dropping large bills on a motorcycle at least let you see how it feals under you! I am glad I got to sit on it made me want mine that much more.

Yeah, i went to the nyc show too. I was looking for the right opportunity to jump on it but they were guarding it like hawks..

That's just silly. Ducati had the super stock, Tricolore, S and standard at the NEC. They had the S and standard available for sitting, handling and having a general root around. Why would any want to go and just look?

The hawk that was "protecting" it said, you can't sit on it as it is one of only two pre-production bikes. One is here and one is in Canada.

I replied, well I hear production has started which makes these obsolete, be a pal let me sit on it. He just walked away.

I am told that the sitting position and ergonomics are fairly close to the Triumph 675 and that feels great for me, so I am not too worried.

I hear ya man, it was crazy to me to even find another person on here from alberta that was buying the same bike (and helmet, lol) as me. i thought the tri-colore was going to be a little rare but this is crazy, now there are three of us around our area.

here is the pic of me on the same bike in edmonton.

I have a 675, which for the record I love, and while its a cornering machine I get left for dead on the straights by the liter class bikes; if only Triumph would make a 1100 triple version of the Daytona, but they won't for commercial reasons.

Having seen the 1199 first hand a the NEC, I'm completely sold and have an S with ABS on order for March/April delivery. Sitting on/hanging off the 1199 at the NEC, as much as you can on a static bike, i think the Panigale is a little more relaxed and roomy than the Daytona, but not by much. The thing I really noticed is how narrow the 1199 is and this is by comparision witb the 675 which is already very slim.

HA!

PaddockStand, that's good to know. Not being allowed to sit on the bike, I had to go for the substitute. Now back to watching paint dry till April.

I quite like the little debate above about which bike looks best between the RSV4F and the new 1199 Panigale. I use my RSV4F on track days only now, it's massive fun. When I showed my wife the pics of the 1199 Panigale she thought it was so similar to the RSV4F. I guess in many ways it is, i.e. small, powerfull, light and full of the latest electronics, they even have the same rear 200 section tyres. Either way couldn't convince her so ordered Tricolore anyway.

Italian bikes at their best I must say,, first Aprilia and now I must say Duc has the first, or at least Olhins for the electronic suspension,, as my buddy would say who has a RC8,, "A bike is a bike, have fun riding"

So far all sold out here. Maybe ill wait mid year to buy mine, for now see the few who are in Edmonton with the Duc . I have one of the 2 black RSV4 in the city.

Between the RSV4-Factory and the 1199 I prefer the 1199. Even though, I think the RSV4 is a great looking bike, to date I hate the way the exhaust looks. I even tried to get a company to custom make me an exhaust to look like what the Panigale has (this was two and a half years ago).

Overall I would definitely pick the Panigale, hence my goodbye to my RSV4-F and hello 1199.
