I don't know what all of this other .... is about, but Engine Ice is not a scam. It does make a difference.

The most common repeat i have noticed is on exhausts actually!

Try my best to do search function, but sometimes new comers to "forum" style, not sure how to use the search. So i'm pretty patient with them.

Dude, it is like that on EVERY forum.

People act like the OEM exhaust is on fire and it has to be removed ASAP. That is the one thing everybody is worried about.

That and they need more powerbandz on a machine that produces more power than they will ever be able to use.

OEM exhaust on fire??

That was sarcasm. Meaning "on fire" as in "damn I have got to get this thing off my bike!".

The first thing people research or ask about is the exhaust. Which one is the best, which one is the loudest, which one is the cheapest etc. For most people, when they get a new bike the first thing they are worried about is the exhaust, as if there is something wrong with the OEM exhaust.

I'd like to see actual data, including long term anti-corrosion and any effect on the water pump. I've always stuck with OEM such as the Honda blue coolant, a few degrees cooler operation isn't worth potential corrosion impact or reduced boil over protection. On the track it's obviously a different story

See also the link I posted on p. 1

I agree fully with the fact that engine ice works great. No gimmick, prior to getting my bike filled replaced with engine ice, i would ride next to JeffD on his 1199 (his bike with engine ice) and his bike, same shift, same temp, humidity etc was running on average 10-12 degrees F cooler... sold me on the idea right then

Doesn't necessarily prove anything - you need to run it in the same bike back-to-back for a true comparison. Furthermore, again, many street riders never change their coolant so long term effects need to be evaluated

Experiences seem to vary widely, but I'm always extremely skeptical at some unknown company that sells a niche product with a big mark-up and magical claims. The major manufacturers sells millions of gallons of coolant, if there was a better chemistry they would be all over it. Distilled and water wetter for the track of course

well, since i live in the devils a$$ hole of the USA (orlando Florida) and it gets deathly hot, i have ran the bike (same bike go figure) with regular coolant and again with Engine Ice with the same 8-10 degree drop in temp while riding.

I am not sure why you referenced the R6 forum because as you state, you will get widely different results. I never ran anything in my R1, but that doesnt mean i couldnt or shouldnt have.

I am not sure how long engine ice has been in production for, but are you looking for 100 year interval or just a few years? Plenty of people on this forum with the original 2012 panigale have run engine ice with no adverse effects.

The R6 forum link is just to cite different opinions, see post 17 for example

I have run both in both dirt and street applications and from my experience, as well as the indication from temp strips mounted on the cylinder, there is not really a noticeable difference between the two.

If the claims were valid, the results would be consistent. There is always a placebo effect with "magic" products like this, and simply changing your old coolant with fresh glycol based mixture can cause it to run cooler!

Running lower than 50% mix (std glycol based) with distilled water can also cause your engine to run cooler - 30% is entirely safe for 95% of owners

What defines the 5%? Hard track guys? Or stop and go commuters? Or...?
