Inspection? Whats thats?OK Those of you who want to mock me look at these
It is just a matter of time before they change them to even more stringent laws and you will not even be able to get your current bike inspected if you don't have the stock CARB regulations sticker on the bikes exhaust can.

Just start reading ... maybe you will actually learn something..
Enjoy your loud pipes while you can.
I said it before I like a good sounding bike myself. however the Ducati 1299 is at the very legal limit now..That is why they have the exhaust valve from the factory. It is to keep the bike quiet enough to pass CURRENT noise levels at slower speeds when they test them for the DOT and EPA requirements..
Ducati is already at or close to the limit of their technology to keep the big 1285 cc twin quiet enough to sell here in the USA.
I think the Harley guys are the ones that do the worst however we are all n this together. ALL motorcyclist are included in the new laws..

The government is full of left wing idiots that will come up with new laws just to substantiate the need for their jobs..
Don't listen to an old guy like me What do I Know right?
I'm done with this..I am just wasting my time...
Maximum Sound Level
No acoustical criteria.
Did you hear the gov't orchestrated 9/11 too? AND they have MARStians in captivity? AND Flight 59 from the Bermuda Triangle is actually on Saturn inventing new cocktails? LOL, JK man. Relax. I bought a Ducati because I work too hard to not have fun and show the world there's people who choose style and lifestyle (Italy) over frugality every once in while I also run around SD with my cutouts wide ... open on my 1969 Chevelle SS396 to remind people not how we (Americans) used to be. Btw, I also have a 2014 Chevy Volt which is plugged in right now and saving the planet because I have solar panels who provide energy off of coal-powered plants and I recycle in every way I can.
Have a Moscow Muel too
Where in TX ya at? I grew up there!!
I don't think many riders care about some stupid exhaust law. I live in commufornia where there's laws for everything in the book and probably some crap we don't know about either. While the panigale exhaust sounds decent at lower revs, it sounds like .... in the mid to upper rpm range. Sound is the ONLY reason I spent my cash on an Akrapovic. Don't care about the weight savings and certainly don't care about the performance increase. It's not austin racing obnoxious. It is perfect. This is how the bike should have been delivered. It already exceeds sound decibel limits from the factory so one can't argue that point and it also won't cut it at some tracks either, even in stock form, therefore do what you want. Most cops don't really give a .... about an exhaust. If they did, every last harley on the road would get taken off the streets. Passing some law isn't going to change anything really, unless they make the fine ridiculous like impounding your bike or some other nonsense. As long as there's an aftermarket, there will always be customers. I will definitely continue to be one of them.
I think this is the link you should have posted.
State-by-state motorcycle laws
I don't care about CARB. Why? Because I don't live in California. Neither do you according to your profile. So why are you even bringing it up?
Noise law for my state...
If you think Austin Texas is liberal, you need to travel more.
Try out the Pacific north-west and report back.
Are you drunk? You remind of those guys who stand on street corners with badly written signs ranting about Jesus and the apocalypse. Take that .... elsewhere, this thread is (was) about exhausts.
Yeah LOL There are lots of whacko's there too... California is basically like a big bowl of granola cereal
It full of Fruits, nuts and flakes..
What an ignorant comment
Phil told you to go get a snickers a long time ago.. may be what phil doesn't know is that (judging from several of your comments) the version of you typing away ignorant and obtuse comments IS the REAL you
There IS good news however, the process of aging DOES fill all the voids (you seem to be having) in the brain.. so there is hope for you after all
move along...
There's something to be said for caution on sound levels with pipes (OEM and aftermarket).
I was going to get Phil's treatment done to my stock base pipes. Thought about it for a long time. Finally decided against it. Simply because I value keeping the good will of my neighbors (I tend to get up and ride before dawn on Sundays) over the exhaust sounds I would have.
Make yourself obnoxious long and loud enough and the people around you who don't care about how it sounds will start attempting to do something about it. Not everyone appreciates a Pani at full throttle (nor should they).
Even I applaud some restrictions. I've had too many *painful* encounters with bozos running straight pipes on their cruisers who think it's their world and the rest of us are just living in it.
Run louder pipes if you want. I enjoy aftermarket sound ( I even have some on my new Speed Triple though I haven't removed the DB killers). Just don't be surprised or offended (and absolutely no whining about it!) when you start getting pushback from local citizens/LEOs about it.
