Three Ducatis in the top 5, Chaz Davies on top. I ride Laguna a lot and I think that on qualifying tyres, these guys are going to dip into the 1'22' s.

Laguna SHOULD be a very good track for Ducati; no long straights, a premium of grip, flickability and drive out of the corners, as well as good corner speed.

Can't wait for qualifying and the race.

P.S. My race instructor, Corey Call is racing in the AMA Superstock 1000 race..!!! So freaking excited for him...

Laguna WSBK

Looking forward to that!

I have thought about taking the trip from SLC to Laguna for a track day. Can an 1199 with full Termi's pass the sound limit?

Chaz qualified P2 last year and I think Davide qualified on the 2nd row. Hopefully Chaz and pull a double win this weekend.

Been wathcing with great anticipation as Chaz and the other Ducati's seem quite well suited for this track, as 80shilling mentioned.

Sykes is pretty strong here though, and I am sure Rhea will be right there also, if not out front.

No it will not, un less they have relaxed the sound rules a bunch. My track day there I almost got thrown out on my Buell, I couldn't down shift on the run up to the cork screw without tripping their sound meter, and my bone stock 1199 is way louder than my old Massey-Ferguson (Buell). It is almost a miracle that Laguna Seca still exists given it's location, it is surrounded by multi million dollar homes in the heart of envirocommie land. It was not like that in the 70's and early 80's My AMA Superbike had a 105db limit at 100' and there wasn't any houses around.

It's nearly always the same story, developers build houses around race tracks, the home buyers know this, then they complain about noise, another track under threat.

We are racing Placerville tonight, otherwise I would be there, Laguna is a magical place, I'm praying for an ALL DUCATI PODIUM!

Was just watching qualifying on BEIN network.

Awesome to see Davies on Pole. Looking forward to the race tomorrow.

By the way, the first AND second positions on pole are Ducati. 3rd is Aprilla.

Should be a fantastic race.

I've heard a lot of crazy stories about Corey Call. From my old T-Hill days. My friend Aaron Maltby knew him pretty well I think.

I wonder how they'd feel about tracks when we start drag racing open piped Harleys on thier 25mph streets around their kids. Because that's what happens when tracks close. IME, yuppie neighborhoods are great for supermotard racing.

I'm just saying. Friday and Saturday nights, cities are noisy. LS needs a better lawyer friend or a whole bunch of motard'd friends. LOLz.

Oh, yes.!! Corey pulls some interesting stunts. He's well known for flying through the air, ver the top of turn 5 (the Cyclone) 5 or 6 feet off the ground. He's promised to wheelie on the cool down lap and pull a few stoppies and some other shenanigans, if he podiums.

Very fast guy, quite "quirky" shall we say, but he's about the only guy that I work well with as an instructor and he's fast enough, so I am not passing him, like I have in the past with some of my other instructors.

Cheers.
