Anyone have an idea the install time for the new quick change sprocket with chain and front sprocket? I have a feeling my stealership is playing games because they were gung ho on doing it for me until they realized i already had it and wasnt paying their absurd price for it. they wanted over 400 for the same kit that i bought for 330 and my kit had the upgraded zvm DID chain.

That will break the chain but not rivet the new one

Vice grips/c-clamps it doesn't take much to smash the pins over the master link. If you want it to look pretty just put a ball bearing between the pin and vise-grips.

I remember the days when you just used a punch and a hammer to change a motorcycle chain.

I bought a DID one some years ago, it's about $125 but will last forever, I've done half dozen or more chains with it.

It breaks the chain as well as rivets the the rivet link. I'd stay away from the clip type master links, tho I used to use them all the time before I got the tool.

The nice thing about using this tool, when you rivet the link to join the chain ends, it's guaranteed you won't end up with a tight spot where the chain goes.

BUT, it's not worth the dollars if you only plan to do it once.

$15.99 I have something similar to this. Works great

Great write up on how to replace the chain
