Hi all,

So after a long hibernation in the garage for the unwanted winter sleep, my bike finally got it´s battery installed. Thought I would give it a go and perhaps a short ride.
Before I got everything all set with the battery, screws and everything, I could see that the motorcycle got some power and displayed the familiar red light on the dash. Game on - or so I thought.

I had to remove the battery once or twice before I got it in position, dropped a screw, off with cables, install it again.
After I was finished, I could see that the red light was gone, no blinking in the dash anymore.

I turn the ignition, you can hear the familiar sound of from my guess is the fuel-pump, then the parking-light along with the rear light is lit. All good, or so I thought.
The dash is not lit up, you can´t use the horn, turn signals, high beam or anything, just the parking light. If I hit the starter button nothing happens.
The battery had previously been charged 2-3 times since november, and then a final hit before heading to the garage.

Could it be a fuse?
Where is it located?
Could it be something else other then my idea of a fuse? (of course but give me some idea).

I tried to load the battery - again - to be sure of it was 100%.
Did the entire process again, but same result :(

Help much needed!

A bit disappointed,

Found the fusebox (2) , went through all of them, none of them broken.
Still same issue, bad battery? Low voltage, will try to check the voltage and/or buy a new battery.

What screw did you drop? Are you sure the cables are connected properly? Can you post a pic of the battery installed in the bike?

Lets forget the screw, it had nothing to do with the actual ones fitted to the battery.
It´s fitted the same way as before I removed it, I took a picture of before the removal.
Talked to the dealer today, they said that it could be the battery, a broken cell or something, so I´ll try a different battery.

Yes, it´s up and running again. It had nothing to with electricity at all, tried a bunch of things and in the end I had to tow it to the dealer. Broken display, got it sorted with the warranty.
I had my first ride yesterday after a month at the dealer.

Interesting... So, what caused the starting issue? The display?

Correct. It had nothing to do with the battery. The screen was blacked out and broken.

So when you put it away for the winter it was working, it hibernated, and then for no reason the display was broken? Wow man sorry to hear that, what a PITA.

Have you made sure the oil level is correct. Overfilling motors like these could cause a hard start.

Had a roommate who killed the TFT dash on his Triumph Speed Triple by doing things in the wrong order while taking the battery in and out. Wouldn't be surprised if all your faffing around with the battery involved the wrong metal bits touching the wrong metal bits and your dash got trashed in the same way.
