Just curious if anyone has experienced a starting issue relating to 1st Gear starts, or other than neutral starts. My 2013 Panigale S, recently destroyed by a young driver not paying attention to her driving:mad:, was replaced with a 2014 Panigale R. These two bikes from what I can tell don't differ much, but I have not installed the pipes.
Enough background, picking it up from the dealer last week I had two stalls, neither of them were driver induced. Being familiar with this Italian's temperament I was not too concerned and suspect this will resolve itself as the bike breaks in. The problem is being in traffic, and looking stupid trying to find neutral to start this thing, because regardless if you've got the clutch in or not, it only starts in neutral. Any thoughts?

the 1st 500-1000km was the worst for my 2012 1199, it would randomly stall on me and then wouldn't start, i would have to wait 15-30sec before it would actually start again.

It would just happen randomly and then after 1,000km it seem to sort it self out and now i no longer have these issues

When I was having trouble starting my panigale (not happend after installing full exhaust system), i turned the key to the ON position, hold throttle open for a couple of seconds, close throttle and push start button to start bike.

Its fly by wire but throttle valve responds to throttle movement when bike / power in ON.
By opening the throttle it will vent the to much amount of mixture out.

Can be applied when in 1st gear but use clutch also to start bike.

My R can the kit on from day 1, broke it in progressively hard, no issues other than the nature of the bike, 100% happy.

something is wrong if it stalls, and something is also wrong if you cannot find neutral, it should be quick and easy to find neutral.

Apparently the dealer forgot to connect a wire that allows in gear starts, part of the PMI checklist.

I just had to replace the clutch master on my R. After getting annoyed with having trouble finding N and stalling while having to bleed the clutch every 600miles.
DNA finally approved to have it replaced under warranty since 6K miles is way past the beak-in period.
