Ever since I installed the comfort seat, the stock seat was just sitting in my garage. I always thought the stock seat was a bit too simple, so I took it to the local leather guy. He had done some work for my friends' Ducatis here in Seoul. In any case, here is the picture of what it looks like before and after. The letters are bit too big and the alcalntra is not waterproof and might be too sticky on the track, but I think it is better than the simple black as it came out with the bike.

Nice job - deviating stitch, model desig and heat shield :)

Good job. I"m waiting on some Alcantara to arrive that I ordered. Different colour tho. I"ll post pics when finished to see if any of you guys give me a gold star:D

Did the heat shiweld make any difference, and is so what did you use, and how attached?

I did the same to my comfort seat. It help keeps you ... a bit cooler but it reflects the heat out the sides. As a result there's a bit more heat for your hamstrings. :(

Yes, the shield does help a bit to keep the heat away. But the comfort seat seems to do a better job.

I used the typical building construction material that are commonly used here in Korea. It has sticky side for attachement, the other side (Gold color surface) to reflect the heat away, and there is a styrofoam (thermo barrier?) in between.

Instaled shots

So here it is finally installed on my 1199s.

I think the letters should have been a bit smaller, but it is all right for now...

The heat issue is not different than the comfort seat.

It is definitley harder (less cushion).

But, now I feel like I am a part of the bike rather than sitting on top of it.

Looks like great craftsmanship and adds to an already gorgeous bike. Well done.
