strong smell

after riding for several hours, when i come home at the end of the ride, i usually top off the gas tank and leave my bike parked outdoors for about an hour, to let it cool off. then i park it in my garage which is very tight on space and not well ventilated. the fumes coming off my bike are strong and it basically makes the garage uninhabitable for the next 12 hours. i can even smell it in the kitchen sometimes and it's the strong of gas fumes, etc. thoughts? i cannot leave my garage door cracked, too many critters.

i never overfill my gas tank but that gas station is only a couple miles from home.

My garage/bike stinks of gas too..... I guess its normal....

Is there any way to safely plug the exhaust when it's stationary? Not sure if it would help, but maybe worth a shot?

Whenever I bring any of my bikes inside, the place smells like fuel in 10 min. Most of the fumes seem to come from the gas cap since it vents. I don't have much of a problem with fumes in my garage, I guess my garage door doesn't seal very well. Covering the gas cap with something helped me in the past.

I find the seal on my cap does not seal very well it's the seal between the cap and the tank .When braking if the fuel tank is full the fuel leaks out the from of the cap .
Your bike might be going the same it is something not visible while riding

Put an exhaust fan on the ceiling of the garage, or high on a wall over the bikes and cars.

Try not filling it before getting home and see if it makes a difference. I've never noticed this with mine.

I have the DP gas cap....but it did this with the Oem also so don't think its a defective cap...

I also noticed that once the smell would pass, after some hours, if you turned the key and reprimed the fuel pump, it would come back.

Try that, then you'll know if it's the cap.

Same here. Before I removed the charcoal canister, the smell would be so strong it would go through the garage and into the house. Now although the smell is still present, it has subsided a large amount.

Mine started after the canister removal. I pop the cap now for an hour or so during cool down. Seems to be much better.

That's really weird!
Mine never smelled (both Tri and SL). Put the bikes a couple of times into my flat after riding. GF was always concerned but had to admit that they do not smell.

EU version, no charcoal canister. EvoTech caps.
