Hi all,
just wanting to see if anyone has had this problem as all the main dealer mechanics are scratching there heads.
my Panigale 1199s 2012 is used for fast road and a number of track days a year.
The problem is when on full acceleration between 9 and 10 thousand revs it stutters badly which makes it a little dicey coming out of fast corners.
Its had full diagnostics , all good.
Changed air filter
Cleaned fuel filter
Drained and cleaned out cooling system
New spark plugs
New Ht leads
Contact cleaned all electrical contacts

Still no cure , if anyone has experienced this or may have some ideas I would be very grateful

cheers

Fuel pressure/flow rate maybe? Have you had it in a dyno to check the mixture at said revs?

Would different tyres make any difference and sensors picking up , sounds daft .
i changed the tyres from Pirelli super Corsa to Dunlop go racers D212 and they are a lot heavier than the Pirelli’s which I have only used previously for the last 5 years.
Thanks jp

Simplest way to tell is to dial back or turn off the DTC and give it a couple of runs. There is some info (can’t recall if it’s in the user or workshop manual) that says you have to play with settings if changing tyres. I can’t say it’s not the DTC but also can’t see why it would only be kicking in at high revs. The wheel dynamics are related to rotational speed not engine speed.

If the tire circumferance is different between the 2 tires it could have an effect, Also try turning off the DTC and see if that changes fixes the problem. As posted above.

Thank you desmoto and disco .
i haven’t tried the DTC yet but don’t think it will be that or the tyres now as when reving the bike in neutral it jumps up and down while obviously still .
Have booked it into the only dyno place in Cornwall and they have squeezed it early Monday as not long until next track day they cure it .
thanks again for replies

DO YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO PLUG A DIAGNOSTIC TOOL IN?

Perhaps a long shot, as symptoms are typically observed in the 7000 RPM range, but the quick-release fuel connector "O" ring... how many times has the tank been removed to perform various service operations? How many times has the "O" ring been renewed? Age, exposure to heat, repeatedly being connected/disconnected... it's an item that easily avoids detection, but can absolutely cause a high RPM stutter, or worse. It might even appear to be in good condition, but crack in half upon removal.

The last time I took the tank off to replace the leads the tank connector did fall apart . I replaced it , all back together and still the same problem.
Thanks very much for your thought,
cheers
Jp
