I can't use enough superlatives to describe this bike. Spent most of Saturday chancing my license in and around the city and suburbia but headed out of town on Sunday, nice 60km stretch of broad, undulating twisties and long sweeping curves called the Toodyay Road. Almost hypnotic ride sitting 150kph rolling on and off the throttle in 5th, the growl of the engine ever eager to go harder. This a road that I found bumpy on my Harley with Fournales air shocks and I barely noticed a bump. The bike felt planted the whole time. (the bike is set to P, and I was in Wet mode with 195hi power because Aussie roads can be a bit gnarly!) I've ridden this road on several bikes over the years and I've never come close to enjoying it this much! I'm replaying the ride in my head now and looking forward to next time!

That's awesome man. I love reading posts like this. Makes me wish I was on my bike right now instead of congratulating you on your ride.

I thought wet mode was limited to 120 hp? Maybe you were in sport 195?

You may have switched to wet mode if you pushed the turn indicator shut off 2X in succession.

Great to hear....That is a pretty good road, bet you cant wait to get it down south. Some of the runs to the UP towns would be unreal. Yallingup to Cowaramup onto Margrets on a quiet day would be a dream:D

It wasn't rough on your Harley, it's just that it was still bouncing from when you left your driveway :)

Take it on O'Brien's and let me know if it still feels good. :)
I HATE that road.

Good to hear it's a joy to ride. Counting down the days.

Just reprogram wet mode to use 195hi.

Pressing it twice won't do anything. You have to hold it in to activate a mode change.

I think that everyone winds up in "Wet Mode" the first few times they ride their 1199.

Just don't let the folks at gixxer.com or AllICanSeeIsGreen.com know about how great your Duc is. They will come over here and tell us all we paid too much for our bikes and then tell us how slow they are and that they will wear out after a year or so of use.

Welcome to the club!

Picked the beast up...... If the weather improves, it will be the great ocean road on the weekend. So looking forward to it after reading your comments.

RSR you can change the settIng in each riding mode so I kept the wet suspension settings but bumped up the power to 195Hi - how good is that!

now THAT is good news! what sequence do you use to combine the two? I need to do that for the crappy roads around here as well.

do tell!!

You press and hold the bottom switch (below the indicator switch) for 2 secs until it goes into settings mode then choose riding mode, wet, then engine, pick 195Hi and save the setting and exit, simple as that!!

You can change any combination of engine, suspension, EBC or ABS you like and create your own custom settings. If you stuff it up just go back to the 'default' setting.

Hope that helps.

Awesome.. Thanks. (any idea what the standard wet suspension settings are off hand?)

Couldn't agree more with how amazing this bike is, just gets better and better with more miles too, love it.

I am personalizing each mode like I want it so I only use Wet when its raining and am driving around in Sport elsewhere. I am not currently using Race as I am not planning to do track days with my Tricolore.
