Will chime in on the S20's for sure once I've had a go on 'em. They do have good buzz; Dave Moss' review was what really got me interested in trying some. Said he'd take 'em over the BT003RS or BT016 Pro in a heartbeat, and that's for track use on an R1 - no small praise. Q2's have kind of been the no-brainer go-to tire for me for a while but I'd really like a bit more feedback, especially at the front, plus they don't like being cold much.
Back to the Supercorsa as this is a Supercorsa thread, I don't know if the profile differs from V1 to V2 but the 200/55 is definitely steeper on the sides than what I've seen on any of my other tires. I have a 675 Daytona and an RC51 in the garage with the Pani. Both have fresh Q2's on them (180/55 & 190/55 respectively), and the 200/55 Supercorsa looked more like a 190/60 sitting next to the 55-series Q2's than just a bigger tire with the same profile.
Mine wore quite evenly, which I attribute to the dual compound. Did wear it all the way to the edge, but didn't quite finish grinding off the lettering at the very edge. Not surprising in street use, since you just won't spend a ton of time at full lean in that environment. I was not previously a Pirelli fan to be honest, but I do like these SP's. They have good feel and a lot of grip for a street tire, and seem to wear about as long and a bit more evenly than a Q2 for me. Ran them mostly at 32F/34R for general riding, maybe down to 31/32 if I was going out for a short play. Higher than track pressures, but of course you don't put as much heat in 'em on the street so they need to start higher.
Just giving this a bump now that I've mounted a new 190/55 Bridgestone S20 rear as I'd mentioned earlier. Ride impression will have to wait a few days as I just put it on this evening, but I'm thinking the impact on the TC and Odo should be minimal to none. Reason being, the mounted new 190/55 S20 is 5mm TALLER than the worn 200/55 Pirelli it replaced. Measured them at 650mm vs 645, and as Bridgestone spec the S20 at 649 I'd say that's a solid measure. Pirelli spec the Supercorsa at 656mm, and while I don't know what diameter new Supercorsas actually do measure out at, I'd be surprised to have worn the thing down by over a centimeter. Possible I suppose, but in any case the S20 dimensions are within the range of a functional 200/55 Supercorsa, meaning if the TC has been OK for the OEM tire for the last half of it's life, then it ought to be fine for this one.
Was also surprised to see how much steeper the profile of the S20 is compared to the fresh 190/55 Dunlop Q2 on back of my RC51. You can tell it's a wee bit narrower than the OEM Pirelli on the Pani, but it looks promising. Will see how they feel, muck with the TC settings a bit and report back after the weekend.
