At least the hp and tq delivery on the monster is pretty smooth and not all over the place like the ktm which to me is surprising. The ktm tq looks like a rollercoaster.
 
I read the article and the Monster sounds like a great bike. If HP and torque is the goal, go with KTM.
 
I'm telling ya, its a FUN as **** bike! Its like a blend of Monsters past with the Streetfighter. Super enjoyable under all circumstances and makes you feel like being a hooligan yet can also accommodate the more casual rides just fine.

I honestly think its ounce for ounce the most fun to ride bike Ducati has made to date. Haven't tracked it though but I'm sure the 1199 is more fun on the track.
 
Oh, and the motor... so smooth compared to the 1199! the power comes on in a gradual rush and I don't feel a dip anywhere.

screw it, I'm going to take it out for a ride!!!! :D
