Guys here is what I posted on the UK recall thread, it will help you to check if you have the bolt issue or not (which is useful for the ones that aren't close to a dealer)
Also it is rumored that this recall is for the bike between N° 420 to 4048
Also note that some customers here in France have received the letter even if the bolt was correct
Anyway it's pretty easy to check yourself ;-)
Just got back from my dealer. He showed me the recall bulletin. Check the last for of your VIN. The recall affect bike 4055 and higher.
Do you Have a source for that 4055 and higher? Was it the bulliten itself? I'm in the VIN 2000's...WTF? Why would they keep my bike? I'm going to pick it up on Monday no matter what bolt is in there!!
Whatever it is, I am quite sure it's not called a "swingarm recall" It's a frigging BOLT. I agree RSR. Go get it and tell the fools to call you when the damn bolt is in, unless they state it's now a liability to let you ride out of there without it. I am willing to bet ya $20 they do? Deal?
The dealer did a number of things. First he entered my VIN on Ducati NA's site to see if it was within the recall range. It was not. Then he pulled up the bulletin on his computer. It showed the image Valen75 posted above. Below the image it said bikes affected starting with 4055. My bike is in the 24 hundreds so I'm ok. They also had a list of bikes they sold that were affected by the recall with instructions to contact those owners. My bike wasn't on it. So at least my local dealer was on top of this it seems. On another completely unrelated note, I asked their master tech about the rumored Termi update up-map. He said there is none. He said part of every service (including the 600m) they plug the bike in and check for fault codes and look for software updates. There are none.Do you Have a source for that 4055 and higher? Hey efna - mine is a 27xx as well, with the correct bolt. Do you hava a link for the range numbers?Just checked mine and it looks like I got the correct one. Note, my serial number is 27xx so I fall in the middle of the supposed range.
Has this been fixed ?
