I am not sure if it fits in 1199S. The mounting system is exactly the same as for passenger seat in 1299. The bag is really well made, quite big and rigid, has a zipper around the "base" so you can easily disconnect the bag and use it as a rucksack. The flat rigid base stays in place - to remove it you need to unlock it first with a key...like a passenger seat. It is also expandable upward another 4 inches to hold larger items.

The quick and easy answer is - are 1199 and 1299 seats interchangeable? Anyone know?

Do not know about seats but I am a bit surprised that nobody here never used it on his bike.

I planning a long trip form Poland to the UK with my DP tail bag fitted. Has anyone used it fully packed on the long distances??. Shall I install additional protection (3M wrapping film) around the tail section to prevent rubbing paint?
