Want To Buy teaser : RS fuel tank

Ducati Forum

Help Support Ducati Forum:

Lemme look into this tomorrow when I'm at work. Based on other ducati tanks, my guess is going to be around a grand.

Edit: forgot with Ducati's new system I can check from my phone! They don't even have the rs listed under bikes, so nothing as if yet.

Edit 2: a tricalore tank is $3300!!!!

CF Tank

If for some reason (and it happens) your bike goes down at the track, this CF tank opens up like an egg, cover you in race fuel and possibly add a spark to the insult as your sliding near. Hmmmm. I will take my chances with an aluminum tank.

CF=Bad Day.

Based on the new design tank on the 1199F14 if it were me I would do some more research on the RS tank before I bought one. Does anyone know if the RS tank increases the air box size like the 1199F14 tank? Ideally you want to move the fuel down and rearward like the F14 while increasing the air box size under the tank to get more air into the engine. Also if you are not running 20 plus lap races you probably don't need a tank as large as the RS tank. I also noted that Corse has now added composite cones to the rear of the F14 tanks to move the riders back, I assume to aid with rear traction.

I would suspect that you can't just bolt the RS tank onto a production 1199, chances are you'd need other parts as well.

Our team has used Kevlar/Carbon fiber tanks on our race bikes in since 2009. In that time we have wadded up more than a few race bikes. To date we have not had a complete failure of the structure. We have had damage to the outer shell which allows the tank to leak but not any worse than our aluminum Corse tanks. We have also had good luck repairing these tanks post crash.

Pretty sure the throttle bodies and injector towers are completely different inside the air box.

Ebay seller, tambarini (think its spelled that way) are selling billet shorter inlets and billet injector holder which they quite a 7% hp gain based on 1199r engine. Was about £700GBP for the set.

The (2013?) wsb tank appears to have extra length in the lower sides near the front which go down either side of the frame, so I would assume atleast you would have to lose the plastic ecu and electric mounts setup???

We made the CF intake funnels for our AMA bikes, they work with the stock fuel tank. Prototypes only right now.

Ul need the 800 gas cap as well ours don't fit to the rs tank
Tank alone is 5650 US dollars
Gas cap 800

New rear of tank extension and shorter seat to mover rider rearward.

1199F14 fuel tanks no long mimic the shape of the stock tank. Clearly the air box in the front is now only a cover and the fuel has been moved under the seat.

From There Site.
"Our multi-layered monocoque structures are designed for maximum structural integrity and visual appeal. To achieve this, we begin with an abrasive resistance hybrid shell which is made out of carbon kevlar (referred to as the monocoque structure). We apply a second layer of composites as a support layer, reinforcing key exposed areas, before applying a final decorative layer of carbon fiber."

AND

"Each FullSix undergoes internal testing for impact during which the tank is subjected to impact by a 15kg weight. To demonstrate our commitment to quality, CDT Group is currently in the process of obtaining TUV certification."

I guess this is what George is envisioning?? :D:D:D
