I just seen them on an 1199s and they looked really good. you suggest ceramic? Does it hold well with heat? fading and what not?

Reading your post I just realized you just had it done. Hard to gauge the future in the hold up of the color.

There's a guy out here that the termis on his 1199R ceramic coated in black. looks good. he said it does seem to help with heat.

Great look and help in heat. Seems like something to look into doing. Going to call around my area and get a quote.

Just had mine ceramic coated satin black. Looks fantastic on the Tri.
I spoke to a local (cobra powder pros) in my area. He actually suggested going with a high temp power coat. Heat resistant up to 1200 degrees. He has actually done it with his personal harley. He suggested the high temp powder coat over ceramic saying ceramic may start to peel and when this happens it comes full strength to all the ceramic coating causing defect. Not saying that's a fact. Just what he told me. The high temp powder coating is not much more so it wasn't a bs upsell.

Mark is correct. Most so called ceramic is only partial so more of a high heat powder coat that does hold up well. I can't tell that mine does much for the heat but looks great which is what I wated.

There is ALWAYS an angle"¦

NOLA.

Your info is a bit off.

High heat powder does hold up well but ceramic coatings gets my vote. This coming from a person that does powder coating for a living many years now. Why? Ceramic coating lowers temps! High heat powder doesn't do crap but make it a different color.

Ceramic coating is way more tedious than powder coating. So them charging more for the powder over ceramic actually is BS. ;)

Good to know and thanks for the info. I trust your word. That is why I like this forum. Feedback from people who are not trying to get money from me tell the truth.

Ceramic coated inside and out. Going on two years now 7.5 k miles and its easy to maintain I really dont do anything to it but wipe it down once in a while, keeps the heat down, cools off within minutes. still looks brand new. Amazing how the carbon buildup in the hole of the mufflers just wipes right off the ceramic coat.
