I am uninstalling the bolt on goodness from my 2012 1199 S (hopefully I can thrash out a deal for my bike against the 13 R at my local dealer??) anyhow the questions are....
once you download the upmap into the bike does it delete it from the upmap itself rendering it usless if supplied with the termi kit....which by the way I'm selling? or is it still there for another user...? if its gone/deleted after the install can you reverse the process and un-install in from the bike in the same manner as installing it? I did a seach but came up empty..thanks in advance..Colin.

Don't have it yet, but my understanding is you can download it back to the flash drive for another user.

Its a one time deal...The thumb drive in effect swaps maps...So after you upload the termi map your thumb drive contains the stock map...

But you can't reload the stock to bike and termi map back to drive???

Yes you can...If you remove the Termis to sell for instance... you plug in the thumb drive and swap maps again..so in effect "downgrading" the bike back to stock.. Now the thumb drive has the upmap loaded to match the termis you are selling... Its kind of a clever system...

Ok just did the reversal. Plugged in the flash drive (upmap) switched on the ignition confirmed yes to the prompt on the dash, waited till the "unplug upmap" appeared that was it...cycled the ignition and confirmed the change..."racing" no longer appears on the dash on ignition on now. Thanks for all the replies....Colin

oh yea, plugged the servo motor back in for the exhaust flap it now is reactivated also...with the upmap the servo motor is deactivated !!

This explains why my dealer was nice enough to remove the whole servo unit for me when installing my slip ons. Something I was going to do myself but was very suprised to see it in my box of goodies when I had the bike delivered!

This should done per Ducatis instructions with the slips...

Oh ok! I never knew that, from what I'd read, i assumed it was something people were doing themselves. I guess that was just with the stock system or when installing slip ons themselves.

I guess due to the weight saving Ducati are looking to achieve and the fact the servo unit becomes superfluous then ist recommended to remove it....If I had had my dealer install the slips and they didnt remove the servo I would be pissed....This is why if possible I do all my own wrenching....

I too enjoy and prefer to wrench myself...however my hands unfortunately tend to wrench paint and strip threads...so with this bike it's a much safer option letting my dealer wrench for me!!

Believe me I dont do anything major..although installing slips wasnt exactly a 5 min job...:D

Hehe I bet! This was a job i was happy my dealer did for free. Nothing like older bikes where it was 2 springs, a few bolts, some liquid gasket and off to the dealer for a tune!

So I had some battery issues on my R and was getting an error, i plugged int the already used USB and re-upmapped the system - still the full termi map

not sure if the USB carries the stock map

Sounds more like to me that the up map didnt take properly the first time.....
