Tesla bike??

I think they would probably sell one to Jay Leno and that would be about it. Not particularly attractive and I would assume very heavy if they ever decided to put it into production.

Oddly enough my wife was just out at the Tesla factory on business and had some interesting conversation with the owner himself. When the topic of family came up she told him about me being a Retired Marine and all. Guess what he asked her?

Did I enjoy motorcycles? ;)

Obviously she explained my fascination with Ducati which she said he appeared genuinely interested! Very odd don't ya think? ;)

All you have to do is look at any Tesla car and you know they'd never make a motorcycle THAT ugly!

I test rode a zero electric motorcycle
Max torque was 106 ft-lb and 76 hp
it seemed fast to about 70 mph then tapered on the power delivery . the torque/power delivery was pretty much instant
overall I was impressed with the power.
the brakes were actually frighteningly terrible. one rotor on the front with bicycle sized calipers coupled with low end suspension .
if you're going to build a bike that accelerates like that you cannot put garbage brakes and suspension on it.
the overall fit and finish of the bike is cheap looking and feeling .
I was left with an appreciation for the potential of the electric motorcycle

which makes me wonder if a company like tesla built a motorcycle would it be in their nature to understand the needs of a motorcycle buyer.

i love all these electric bikes and they are getting close to producing a decent bike, just look at the mission RS, there are still issues with weight/power delivery and charging but these problems are slowly ebbing away.

I kinda like this design and i think the tesla market if it becomes a reality is not the hardcore biker but more urban riders.

i'm just waiting for KTM to bring out an electric dirtbike (now that will be awesome)

I rode the Harley Livewire last year. I was far more impressed than I thought I'd be.

Give it a few years for power density per kilogram of battery to go up, and then we'll really see an electric revolution.

Best part of an electric bike? Sitting in traffic. Zero heat produced under you; it's weird.

Then maybe you West Coast guys can actually pass a Laguna Seca 30 db day!:D Though, I am sure they will find some other eco reason to throw the black flag.

Looks like the brave little toaster on two wheels. After seeing and driving the Tesla model S I find it hard to believe they would style a motorcycle like that.
